This is Henry, a terrier/ yellow lab mix. He came to live with Art & Virginia all the way from a small town in Arkansas through the Golden Hugs Rescue group in Williston, VT. The rescue group made the match and made sure Henry had safe transportation to his new home in South Hero, VT. In Arkansas, Henry was scheduled for euthanasia because he could not find a home due, in part, to his fear of larger dogs. Kudos to Art & Virginia for providing him with his forever home!
Henry has adjusted to Vermont and is now thoroughly attached to his adopted parents, especially his mother, Virginia. Art tells us Henry knows when 'Mom' returns home by the sound of her car engine and he runs to the door to greet her with his tail wagging. The terrier part of Henry likes to chase the squirrels, bunnies and chipmunks; the Labrador part of him enjoys all people and smaller dogs but still he has a healthy respect for larger dogs and would sooner just stay away from them. At home, when he thinks about getting up on beds or furniture his Mom simply says "Henry, four-on-the-floor" and he gets right down. When he sleeps, he makes himself at home right under Art & Virginia's bed where he feels safe & secure.
Henry is well loved and a wonderful addition his new home. We enjoy seeing him relax and enjoy his time here at the Casablanca. Come back and see us sometime Henry and bring Art & Virginia too!
