As you can see, Rani (pronounced like 'Ronnie') is a greyhound. Her name means 'queen' in Hindi and now that she has retired from racing, she is truly living the life of a queen! Rani was adopted from Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue of Swanzey, NH by her new family Sadelle & Ann. Rani was at the Casablanca Motel for her 4th birthday and she enjoyed having her family with her in their own private cabin and making a new friend or two at the local dog park.
At home, Rani loves getting treats and sorting through her box of bones and squeaky toys. She gives kisses in the morning to wake up her family and seems to be adjusting well to her new feline companions.
According to the Fast Friends website, Greyhounds are quiet and docile dogs who rarely bark. Because Greyhounds are racers, they are sprinters, not endurance runners. While they enjoy a good romp around a fenced yard they do equally well with a brisk 10 minute walk daily. The rest of the time they are content resting on a soft bed or couch. Because of these traits, Greyhounds are often referred to as the "45 mile/hour couch potato".
Rani was adopted in December of 2013 and is Sadelle & Ann's second greyhound. Thank you for allowing us to share in Rani's 4th birthday, we wish her many more!
